- As the mission starts, your army is running from the covenant.
- Black Box Location: In the first part of the mission you'll be running South along a path. The box is down the first staircase you pass by.
- Ignore the pursuing covenant. Instead take your army South-East towards the highlighted crater.
- There are covenant troops guarding the crater. Use your spartans and tanks to take them out.
- New Unit: Spartan
- This is the closest you'll find to Master Chief in this game. Spartans are infantry units with good stats and special abilities. They can hijack enemy vehicles or enter your own ground vehicles to increase their effectiveness. Also, while spartans are regular units in multiplayer, the ones you have in the campaign are considered hero units.
- Secret: There is a secret achievement in this mission. Hijack 6 covenant vehicles in this mission and you'll unlock Achievement: He's Got the Jack.
- When you reach the crater, you'll automatically establish a base.
- TIP: There are lots of supply crates around your new base. Pick them up for a monetary boost!
- Build a supply pad and a barracks.
- While those are building you can upgrade your main base into a station. Do this.
- When your station is complete you'll have the option to build turrets. Immediately build turrets in all 4 turret spots around your base.
- Build another supply pad and then a reactor.
- Once the reactor is complete, upgrade your supply pads into heavy supply pads.
- The covenant begin sending in units to attack you. The first attack only consists of a few banshees. #Your turrets and army will easily kill them before they can do any damage.

- Soon you'll receive a message that backup is arriving. A pelican comes and drops off a few extra troops at your base.
- When you get enough supplies, build a second reactor on your last building spot.
- Just keep defending. Once you have 400 supplies handy, upgrade your main base into a fortress.
- Wait until after your base gets attacked, then take your army North-West to find the covenant's mega turret.
- Optional Objective: Build a Second Base
- There is another spot to build a base. A second base will really increase your income, but first you need to destroy the mega turret that's guarding it.
- The mega turret is guarded by a wraith and a few other units. You'll take a few casualties, but you can take them out. Remember to use your Y attacks.
- Optional Objective: Kill 5 Wraiths
- TIP: If you're going for the achievement where you hijack 6 enemy vehicles, don't hijack the wraiths. You'll need to destroy the wraiths in order to get the skull in this level. Instead hijack enemy ghosts or banshees.
- Click on the building area and construct yourself a new base.
- Go back to your first base. Your fortress upgrade provided you with 2 new building spots. Create a vehicle depot and an air pad.
- TIP: Air pads allow you to create planes. Here you can train the hornets you had in the previous mission.

- When your second base finishes building, immediately upgrade it to a station. You'll need turrets to defend this base while your army is doing other things.
- Return to your first base. You still need to protect it from incoming attacks.
- At your second base, build an armory and some supply pads. You'll be using this base just for extra supplies.
- TIP: Make sure to upgrade all of your supply pads into heavy supply pads. This will vastly increase your income.
- Upgrade your second base into a fortress. Use one of the new building spots to make a third reactor. Then use the last spot for another supply pad.
- Build a scorpion tank at your vehicle depot. It will be helpful against the incoming attacks.
- To find the other 4 wraiths, take your army slightly North of your base. 3 of them are due North and the last is slightly North-East of your base.

- SECRET: Once you've killed 5 wraiths, the Fog Skull appears on the freeway. To get it, send 1 or 2 units along the overpass that's directly left of your first base. When the overpass splits into multiple paths, take the left path to find the skull. You shouldn't take your entire army over to get the skull, a small squad is sufficient.
- When you get the money, upgrade one of your reactors into an advanced reactor. You should now have 4 total power.
- Go to your air pad. It's time to build some vultures.
- New Unit: Vulture
- The vulture is the strongest regular UNSC unit. They take up a hefty 6 food and cost 900 supplies, but their firepower is huge. If you have the money, these are one of the best units you can invest in.
- Build 2 vultures. You should just have enough food.
- Go to your armory and research Reinforcements. This upgrade improves your total unit capacity to 40.
- Click on your vehicle depot and research the canister shell ability for you tanks. You won't be building many more, but it's a good upgrade for the ones you already have.
- After enough time has past, reinforcements arrive. Watch the cutscene and a whole squad of spartans joins you. You now have 9 total spartans. And they're all fully upgraded as well. Your army just became ridiculously powerful.
- Now it's time to be offensive. To complete the mission you must destroy the covenant base. Travel North to find it.
- YouTube: Halo Wars Walkthrough - Arcadia Outskirts Part 5 HD (Time: 4:28)
- Your 2 vultures and tanks should be enough support for the spartans. Just make sure to use their Y abilities.
- TIP: Don't forget that your spartans can hijack vehicles. Just target an enemy vehicle with a spartan and press Y over it. The spartan charges forward and steals the vehicle. With 9 spartans, you can just steal the covenant's army away from them!
- Kill the defensive covenant troops around their base. The army of spartans will rip through them effortlessly. You'll hardly have to try here.
- Once the enemy units are killed, attack the base itself. It goes down pretty easy. The mission ends as soon as the main hall is destroyed.
