This is Part 12 of our complete Halo Wars Walkthrough, featuring Halo Wars Mission 12 Repairs.

Mission 12: Repairs
- Immediately you'll notice that this mission takes place on the same map as mission 11.
- Black Box Location: The map for this mission is the same as Mission 11. And the black box is practically in the exact same place as the previous one. Take a hornet to the North-West end of the ship and rotate the camera to find it. Just remember you'll need an air unit to collect it.
- You're defending again, but this time against the covenant army.
- Immediately highlight your cyclopses and direct them to the damaged power core.
- New Unit: Cyclops
- The cyclops is a support unit. It can heal nearby buildings and vehicles, making it an excellent supplement to any army.
- Have the rest of your army defeat the nearby covenant troops.
- Optional Objective: Keep at Least One Deck Gun Alive
- Don't worry about this optional objective. It doesn't give you anything.
- This mission goes on until you've completely repaired the power core. There are two distinct approaches this mission.
- The first way is very easy and will get you a hidden achievement. But you won't be able to get the skull. The second strategy does get you the skull, but it takes longer and voids the hidden achievement.
- TIP: This mission is extremely short. Just replay it if you want both the skull and hidden achievement.
- Strategy 1
- This is the fast way through the mission. Follow this strategy and you'll also get that secret achievement.
- Remember that all you need to do is repair the power core. So this strategy involves training an army of cyclopses.
- Send all of the cyclopses you start with straight to the power core.

- Now start training cyclopses at both of the infantry air locks.
- Press D-Pad Up to bring up the commander powers. Here you can set a Global Rally Point. Set the rally point next to the power core. Now any unit you train will immediately go there first.
- Keep training cyclopses. You should get at least 15-20.
- The army you start with is enough to defend the cyclops group as they do repairs. Just keep them nearby.
- Have all 3 of your spartans take over a friendly vehicle. Make sure that two of your spartans are in hawks. This greatly increases their firepower.
- It won't take very long at all for you to repair the power core. Massing an army of cyclopses makes this mission very easy.
- If you're constantly training cyclopses and sending them to the core, you'll have the repairs done within 4 minutes. This gets you the achievement: Handy With Tools.
- The mission ends as soon as the core is repaired.
- Strategy 2
- This strategy is slower, but will get you the skull.
- Purposely don't build any more cyclopses. You'll want to repair the ship slowly so that you can fight.
- Have all 3 of your spartans take over hawks. You start with two, so train a third hawk for the last spartan. This greatly increases their firepower.
- Optional Objective: Kill 12 Spirit Transports
- This is the objective that leads to the skull. It won't be that hard to get though.
- Start training hawks. These air units will massacre the covenant forces.
- Defend while you train hawks. It shouldn't take very long until you've reach the population max.
- The covenant come in waves. Meaning that once you kill all of their troops, spirit transports will fly in and drop off more.

- Kill all of the covenant. This will trigger the spirit transports to come.
- Your hawks are excellent anti-air units. They'll destroy the transports easily. Just fly around and kill them as they drop of infantry.
- You need to kill 12 transports. You won't do it in this wave though. Also, it's not possible to kill all of the transports that come by.
- Now kill all of the infantry units that got dropped. This will cause more transports to come.
- It won't take long at all to kill 12 transports. Your hawks are simply too powerful for any of the units that the covenant throw at you.
- Once you've killed your 12th transport, the Boomstick Skull appears at the North-Eastern part of the ship. Send any hawk over to collect it.
- Now just defend the power core. It doesn't matter if the rest of the ship gets destroyed.
- Train as many cyclopses as you can. You won't be able to make many though, since your hawks take up most of your population.
- Eventually your cyclopses will finish repairing the core. It will take a while, but you'll win.
- The mission ends as soon as the power core is fully repaired.
