The trailer for the video game Halo Reach was released on November 12, 2009. Very little information about the title was released at the time. The release date has not been set yet, other than an estimation of Fall of 2010. The multiplayer beta release of Halo Reach was released May 3, 2010. The game Halo 3: ODST will be used as a key to access the multiplayer beta for Halo Reach.

Halo Reach is the name of an upcoming installment in the popular first-person shooter Halo series developed by Bungie for the XBox360 video game system. Few story details have been released. What is known is that Halo Reach will be a prequel to Halo Combat Evolved (also known as just Halo). The game will take place during the timeframe of the Halo The Fall of Reach novel and at the start of the Halo First Strike novel. This makes Halo Reach a prequel to the Halo trilogy. At this point in the story, there are a number of the Spartan-II soldiers still active. In the Halo universe, Reach is an important planet for humanity, as it is the home planet for the UNSC Fleet Command Headquarters, and is where soldiers are trained, battleships constructed, and where the famous Spartan training program was held (the same program that created Master Chief).

The game will take place in 2552, where humanity is at war with the alien Covenant. Players control Noble 6, a member of an elite supersoldier squad, during a battle for which side will control the human planet of Reach.

Halo Reach is a first person shooter. The only part of your character the player will see is the weapon you have equipped at the time. In other words, you see what your character sees. Some of the leaked screenshots included showing a new needle-firing carbine gun, a 12-round rifle, and a new HUD display which would show the current health and names of squad mates. Outside of that information little else is known at this time. This section will be updated as new information develops.
