Halo 3 Skulls are popular "eastereggs" that can be collected in Halo 3. Hidden throughout the game there are thirteen different skulls, which (if collected) add extra content, secret gameplay features and increase your campaign score. Halo 3 Silver Skulls
- Blind: Removes heads up display and weapon from a player's view
- Grunt Birthday Party: Viva Pinata music will play as Grunts explode into confetti if they are hit with a headshot from a semi-automatic weapon
- Cowbell: Causes a drastic increase to the power of explosions
- IWHBYD: Unlocks new dialogue for non playable characters in the campaign mode

Halo 3 Gold Skulls
- Iron: Removes the ability to use checkpoints in the single player campaign
- Black Eye: Requires the player perform a successful melee attack before a damaged shield will recharge
- Tough Luck: Give enemies enhanced dodging abilities
- Catch: Increases the amount of grenades that non playable characters will throw at the player during combat
- Fog: Removes the motion sensor from a player's screen
- Famine: Reduces the amount of ammunition in found weapons by 50%
- Thunderstorm: Increases the rank of all enemies by one level

Halo 3 Gold Skulls

- Iron Skull (If you die, the mission restarts. If you're playing co-op, the whole team restarts from the last saved checkpoint)
- Black Eye Skull (When you lose your energy shield, you can gain it back by melee attacking an enemy or ally)
- Tough Luck Skull (Enemies amazingly dodge grenades and will make every "saving throw.")
- Catch Skull (Enemies throw a lot more grenades at you)
- Fog Skull (Your motion sensor is deactivated)
- Famine Skull (The enemy's weapons you pick up will contain less ammunition than normal)
- Thunderstorm Skull (Each enemy gets a "rank promotion," making them stronger)
- Tilt Skull (Enemy armor becomes far more resilient to attack).
- Mythic Skull (Enemies have double their normal health and shields)
