How to make Halloween decorations - Halloween ideas for food and parties
The host gives several ideas and suggestions for how to celebrate Halloween for less. Gourds can be cut to form candle holders, and pumpkin seeds can be saved and seasoned to create a Halloween-themed snack. Bloody popcorn can be made by just adding some food coloring, and garbage bags can be used to create Halloween decor.
Make Your Own
Buy several pumpkins and, instead of carving them, simply paint faces on them. You can line them up along the walk way to your house or even line them along the drive-way. If you carve them you can add a candle in them and light them up at night.
Make your own dummy by taking an old pair of jeans, use rubber bands to tie off the bottom of each leg. Stuff each leg with old newspaper or leaves from the yard. Find an old flannel shirt, tie the very bottom of the shirt together, tie each arm together with a rubber band. Stuff the shirt body and arms with leaves or newspaper. Stuff the shirt into the pants and tie off with a belt or rope. To get really realistic place your new dummy in a chair on your porch or in the yard. Add a carved pumpkin to the top of the shirt for a head. Place a lit candle in the pumpkin at night for an extra scary feature.
