  • Republican Haley Barbour is the current Governor of Mississippi. He was re-elected in 2007 and is now serving in his second term. Rumors have emerged that he is considering a run for the Presidency in 2012.

  • Early Life

    Barbour worked on Richard Nixon's Presidential campaign in 1968 while still in college. He earned a Juris Doctor and began practicing law after graduating in 1972.
  • Political Career

    Barbour unsuccessfully ran for U.S. Senate in 1982. In the early 1990s, he set up a lobbying firm and became the Republican National Committee Chairman. He was elected as the 63rd Governor of Mississippi in 2003.
