  • Hal Gill is a professional ice hockey player for the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League. He was traded to the Penguins from the Toronto Maple Leafs on February 26, 2008.
  • Career Highlights

    Prior to his NHL career, Gill attended and played for Providence College. He was drafted 207th overall in the 1993 NHL Draft by the Boston Bruins, but stayed in school for four years following the draft. Gill made his NHL debut with the Bruins in 1997, playing 68 regular season games and six playoff games his rookie season. In 2000, Gill represented Team U.S.A. in the World Championships for his first of four times. He continued with the Bruins over the next several seasons, playing for Lukko Rauma in Finland during the 2004-05 NHL Lockout. On July 1, 2006, Gill signed as a free agent with the Toronto Maple Leafs to a three year contract. He continued with the Leafs for the next season and a half, when he was sent to the Penguins at the trade deadline.
