Hajji Hammadi

Top-level Al Qaeda militant in Iraq Hajji Hammadi was killed in a raid by U.S coalition forces on November 11, 2008. According to the U.S. Military, Hammadi was suspected of the kidnapping and slaying of U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Keith Matthew Maupin in the spring of 2004. Hammadi was also suspected as the "mastermind" behind the June 2008 suicide bombing during a sheikhs' meeting in Karma, Iraq. The attack killed three U.S. Marines, the mayor of Karma and several others.CNN: Iraq Raid Kills Suspect in Kidnap-slaying of Gi (November 20, 2008)
