A school collapsed outside the Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince on November 7, 2008, killing at least 90 children and adults, trapping an untold number of others inside. Rescuers are working frantically to dig through the rubble of the two-story building, which reportedly pancaked and is blamed on poor construction. "Like an Earthquake"
According to BBC, Brazilian Maj. Gen. Carlos dos Santos Cruz, a commander for Haiti's United Nation troops, said that the scene was "like an earthquake." As to the extent of the damage and casualties, he said, "You have a lot of people under the debris.
