    The movie's cast members featured on the album include Nikki Blonsky (Tracy Turnblad), James Marsden (Corny Collins), Zac Efron (Link Larkin), Michelle Pfeiffer (Velma Von Tussle), John Travolta (Edna Turnblad), and Queen Latifah ("Motormouth" Maybelle).

    The album reached #2 on the Billboard 200, selling over 1.3 million copies in the United States alone.

    A two-disc "Collector's Edition" was released in November 2007, which featured extra tracks, demos and karaoke versions of the film's popular songs.
