  • Haagen-Dazs is an ice cream brand owned by General Mills and sold under the Nestle licensing brand in the United States. Since its founding in 1961, Haagen-Dazs has been known for its high quality products that have high butterfat content and few additives. They produce ice cream, sorbet, frozen yogurt, in addition to franchising retail stores. They were the first company to create an adult-oriented ice cream bar in 1986. In 2008 they donated money to go towards research into Colony Collapse Disorder, as honey bees are vital to pollinating many of the plants that yield ingredients used in Haagen-Dazs products. In recognition of the problem, they released a limited edition flavor, Vanilla Honey Bee.
