In 2003, Dino, the lead singer of the group, was on his way home from a session in the recording studio when the car he was riding in was struck by another driver who ran a red light. Dino and his girlfriend, Teshya Rae Weisant, were both killed in the crash. At the time, Dino was working on a reunion album with the other members of H-Town. The album, Imitations of Life, was finally released a year later.http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1459812/20030203/h_town.jhtml

H-Town Career

The group H-Town was formed in the late 1980s. Originally the trio was signed under the management company run by Luther Campbell of 2 Live Crew. They released their debut album, Fever For Da' Flavor, in 1993. It featured the hit single Knockin' Da Boots. The next year, H-Town released its sophomore effort Beggin' After Dark.http://music.aol.com/artist/h-town/album/page/1 The album included the single Emotions, which featured an eerily omniscient music video. In the video, the lead singer Dino was portrayed as having suffered a critical injury in a car accident. Nine years later, he would die in a similar accident.http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1459812/20030203/h_town.jhtml

After their second album, H-Town decided to make a sharp career change. The members became religious and left Luther Campbell's management.http://www.rnbhaven.com/90s-music/artists/H-Town/25 Their third album Ladies Edition showcased this shift, featuring songs such as Ways to Treat a Woman, Woman's World and Woman's Anthem. On this album, H-Town demonstrated a more respectful attitude toward their female listeners.http://music.aol.com/artist/h-town/album/page/1 Their final album Imitations of Life was released following the death of lead singer, Dino.
