Actress Gwyneth Paltrow has taken the role of celebrity ambassador for the Save the Children charity. According to an announcement from the charity on March 24, 2008, Paltrow will participate in a three-year plan by Save the Children to reduce the number of children dying from preventable diseases throughout the world. Sources say that Paltrow plans to put her acting career on the hold for the present so that she can spend more time with her two children, Apple and Moses. Paltrow has previously done charity work for UNICEF.
