Guy Ritchie is a screenwriter and director. His first two feature length films were Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch. His current work-in-progress is Sherlock Holmes, which stars Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law, Rachel McAdams and Kelly Reilly.

After finding commercial and critical success with his first two films, Ritchie directed Madonna in Swept Away, a remake of a 1974 film by Lina Wertmuller. The film received negative reviews and grossed less than $600,000 in the U.S.Box Office Mojo: Swept Away

His 2005 film, Revolver, met with similar critical vitriol and was only released on a limited basis in the U.S.Rotten Tomatoes: Revolver Ritchie's 2008, film, RocknRolla, is set for release in September in the U.K. and October in the U.S.

In June 2008, rumours circulated that Guy Ritchie and Madonna planned to divorce.
