Guy Laliberte
Canadian born billionaire and philanthropist Guy Lalberte became the world's seventh space tourist on Wednesday, September 30, 2009. He joined American astronaut Jeffrey Williams and Russian astronaut Maxim Surayev on a trip to the International Space Station, where they will spend 12 days in orbit.
On Friday morning, October 2, 2009, Laliberte and the other two astronauts docked safely at the International Space Station, where Laliberte did his first broadcast from space.http://news.cnet.com/8301-19514_3-10366222-239.html
Billionaire Clown in Space
Laliberte, also known as the Billionaire Clown, paid $35 million dollars to embark on the space journey, and will be using it as a means of promoting concerns about the world's water supply. He will be reading text from space to be broadcast on a series of shows for his Poetic Social Mission.
