Life and Career
Gurinder Chadha was born in Kenya, but her family moved to Britain when she was two.
In 1993 she started making waves as a director with her film Bhaji on the Beach, and 2002 she scored an international hit with her film Bend It Like Beckham, which was starred Parminder Nagra and Keira Knightley.
In 2006 she was granted an Order of the British Empire.
