  • Career

After gigging around the Sunset Strip area of Los Angeles for a couple of years, the band was eventually signed to Geffen Records and released their debut album Appetite for Destruction. The album went on to become the best selling debut in history and established the band as a major new force in music. The band upped the ante even more when their 1991 double album Use Your Illusion I & II were released as two separate albums and went on to take the #1 and #2 spots on the Billboard charts. After their early 90s peak, the band began to lose original members left and right. Once the dust had settled, the only original members still left in the band was Axl Rose.
