The Pat Denton side missions within the western-themed video game Gun are also referred to as the Keep the Peace, Deputy, or Law Man missions.http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/gun/review.html?tag=summary%3Bread-review   These side missions are not vital to the game's story line, but do provide bonuses for your character's Gunhand, Quickdraw and Melee stats.http://www.xbox360achievements.org/game/gun/guide/  In these side missions, Colton "Cole" White, the game's Apache protagonist, is tasked with keeping Dodge City safe while the Sheriff is busy. 

Sheriff Pat Denton is only able to assign these side missions from Dodge City after Colton has completed specific story line missions. Pat Denton side missions include escorting citizens of the town, stopping gang fights, and saving hostages. Each of the six Pat Denton side missions contains three parts. Each part of the side mission must be completed to receive the reward for the entire mission. Successful completion of all of these missions in addition to the Federal Marshal side missions earns the Keeper of the Peace achievement. Colton earns cash rewards after completing individual missions in addition to increasing the character's stats.

Unlocked after successful completion of the "Quick Killer at the Bridge" mission.

• Get ready to face the highwayman who attack in Denton's absence.
• Pick up a horse.
• Make your way to Alhambra's on the east side of town.
• Take out the three highwaymen with your rifle as soon as they are within range.                    

• Ride behind the shops to take care of the poker brawl in the alley.
  
• Use Quickdraw Mode to take them out before they are able to get to their guns.
• Pick up whiskey and ammo refills in the area before you begin the third part of the side mission.                                    

• An opium dealer is in town. Talk to the bartender indicated on the map to find out where he is selling his goods.
• Head towards the northern outskirts of town, and go behind the old bar.
• As you approach, the dealer's bodyguards will run out shooting.
• Take the enemy on Main Street out before making your way to the back.
• A whiskey bomb will be tossed your way.
• Take out as many of the remaining group as you can with a whiskey bomb of your own.

Unlocked after successful completion of the "Quick Killer at the Bridge" mission.

• Head to the first floor of Alhambra where a whore is being beaten. She loses health quickly so you must move fast.
• As you make your way into the bar, quickdraw the three men inside before they finish her off.

• Next, head to the water tower northwest side of town to address a hostage situation.
• Make your way in from the rear in Quickdraw mode.
  
• Take out the three gunmen using your shotgun in quickdraw, without hurting the hostage.                                    

• Proceed to the south side of Dodge City to stop a hold up in progress in an alley.
• Make your way in by heading around the gallows.
• Be careful not to hit the robbery victim as he starts out with a low life gauge.
• Quickdraw the three bandits before they kill the victim..

Unlocked after successful completion of the "Quick Killer at the Bridge" mission.

• While Sheriff Denton settles some debts on the other side of town, Colton is left in charge.
• First up, you need to dispose of the Campfire Gang spotted on the east side of Dodge City.
• Head over to the east side of town, near where you took out the opium dealer.
• Throw a whiskey bomb at the gang to take out most of its members. They are clustered in a small group and should be pretty easy to dispose of.
• Go in while firing to finish off the remainder with Quickdraw kills.                    

• Next: a gunpowder delivery.
• Make your way to the ferry docks.
• Pick up the TNT barrel and head to the store on foot with the barrel.
• Before you reach the outskirts of Dodge, you are attacked by three men with rifles.
• Set the barrel down.
• Take out your rifle and dispose of them.
• Continue on until Main Street. Two more men will try to attack here.
• Again, set the barrel down.
• Take out your rifle and dispose of them.
  
• Finish your journey to the store without incident.
• Take the barrel to the designated building and deposit it there.                                    

• Equestrian raiders are headed in to town from the east for this mission's final task.
• Jump on a horse and wait for them to approach..
• You can drop a few whiskey bombs to set fire to their horses. This will slow them down dramatically.
• Take the enemy on Main Street out before making your way to the back.
• A whiskey bomb will be tossed your way.
• Take out as many of the remaining group as you can with a whiskey bomb of your own.

Unlocked after successful completion of the "Ambush the Train" mission.

• Wait for Denton to leave.
• Take a horse to find the 'Wealthy Citizen' near the bridge on the west side of town.
• You are tasked with escorting her through town and protecting her from attack.
• Keep an eye on her health bar throughout the mission.
• Talk to her and the mission will start.
• Begin walking through town.
• Gang members, indicated on your compass, will be waiting to attack. You should find them generally on the right side of town, except for the last two. These two will shoot at you from behind the Wanted Poster board on the abandoned building on the left edge of town.
• Ride ahead to Quickdraw all of the assailants with your pistol.
  
• Escort her to her destination to end the first task successfully.                    

• Continue to the second floor of the Alhambra to stop a robbery in progress.
• Start up the stairs..
• Use Quickdraw to shoot the robber near the balcony from the steps.
• Take out the remaining gunmen by the crates in the storage room with your shotgun.                                    
  

• The final task for this mission is to clamp down on the gang fight taking place in the streets of town.
• You can either take the fighters out from the balcony with your rifle, or jump down onto the horse and Quickdraw the fighters. Stomping on them with your horse is also an option.

Unlocked after successful completion of the "Ambush the Train" mission.

• Two stolen powder kegs have been hidden behind buildings at opposite sides of Dodge City, one on the east and the other on the west. It does not matter which one you head to first.
• As soon as you pick up the first keg, enemies spawn in the streets and alleys.
• Use your rifle to take them out.
• Deliver the barrels to the sheriff's office as soon as all of the enemies have been disposed of.                    
  

• Head to the bridge at the far east end of town where a family has been taken hostage.
• Take out the four gunmen behind the crates with your sharpshooter rifle.
• Move towards the family to secure them.                                    
  

• The final task in this side mission is to take care of the gunmen shooting at the townspeople from the top of the top of the water tower.
• Go around the Alhambra.
• Arm your rifle as you head to the rear of the tower.
  
• Take the four snipers with headshots from your rifle.

Unlocked after successful completion of the "Attack the Fort" mission.

• You are tasked with eliminating the gangbangers who are holding hostages in three separate locations, including the Alhambra saloon.
• Take out the first gang member with your rifle from the doorway..
• Head towards the building across the street.
• This second hostage scenario is a trap. Take out the gunman and the fake hostage.
• Then head to the west side of town, behind the fence flagged as private property by the bridge.
  
• Take the gunmen with headshots out through a hole in the fence.                    
  

• Next, you need to go to the docks to meet a snitch who will provide information about the Red Hand Gang..
• After you arrive at the ferry and talk to him, you will notice him moving towards Dodge Bridge as his former associates try to take him out.
• Save the snitch by eliminating these gunmen on the ridges on both sides.
• Continue back towards town.
• Kill as anyone who walks back out onto the ridge on the right.
• Wait for the snitch to join you.
• Kill additional enemies around the Alhambra corner and those who pop out from the alleys as they spawn.
• Keep the snitch with you so that he does not walk into a trap, especially near the base of the water tower.
• Once the men near the wagon are taken out, the snitch lets you know that the Red Hand Gang has taken over the Alhambra.

• For your final task, head to the Alhambra saloon.
• The first is full of gang members. Shoot as many as you can through the outside window..
• Enter the saloon and clear the first floor.
• Climb the stairs to the second floor.
• Continue to the end of the hall, eliminating any gang members along the way.
• Kill the two women at the end of the hall who are begging you to save them. They are gang members.
• Once all of the gang members are killed, Denton congratulates you on a spectacular finish and you achieve a larger bonus than received in any of the other Pat Denton side missions.
