Act IV
- NARRATION: "I've seen the other half of this cross. The Apache Chief has it. If I can put the pieces together, then I can bear Magruder at his own game."
Odds and Ends
- Take the ferry back into Dodge City and speak with Pat Denton. The first mission involves the rescue of three hostages around town. Free the first hostage taker on the west end of town.
- The second hostage taker in the saloon is actually a trap. Shoot both men in the saloon. Kill the third hostage taker in the Alhambra saloon.
- Move down to the ferry to protect the snitch. Shoot bandits on the left and right ridges as well as the men on the ground level. Follow the snitch and look for more enemy spawns around the buildings of Dodge.
- The final "Keep the Peace" mission required Colton to take out the Red Hand Gang. They are holed up in the Alhambra saloon. Kill the four men on the lower level. Take them out from a distance with the rifle. Move up the stairs and kill the four gang members to end the Red Hand Gang.
- Ride out to ranch to take another mission. He needs Colton to retrieve cattle from a camp of rustlers. Follow the radar and kill the four rustlers guarding a pen of cattle. Smash the gate with the horse and follow the cattle back to the ranch.
- Speak to the rancher again for another mission. Wait until he gets on a horse and help him drive calves into the pen. Speak to him again to start another mission.
- The rancher needs help driving a group of cattle to Dodge. Ride out to the Badlands and drive the calves to the longhorn. Follow the group towards Dodge City and prepare for a group of cattle rustlers along the path.
- Shoot all the rustlers on the cliff ledges and on horseback. Continue driving the cattle east and smash the boxes on the bridge with Colton's horse. Ride into Dodge behind the cattle to end the mission.
- Go back to the ranch and speak to the rancher. He's leaving town and needs an escort to Empire. Ride west and wait for a train to pass. Enter quick-draw mode and fire on the five men on horseback. Follow the rancher into Empire and the final rancher mission has ended.
- Ride into Empire and head into the saloon for three more poker tournaments. They offer $40, $50 and $60 prizes. Swing by the shopkeeper to pick up the two Extra Dynamite Slots.
- Speak to the Federal Marshal in Empire. He needs Colton to ride out toward Dodge City and check on a group of settlers. Ride to Dodge and use whiskey bombs at the camp to ignite the hay bails in the area. They are marked with a red X. Try to shoot the attacking wolves as well.
- Check out the Wanted poster on the nearby shack. Mad Dog Mcgrady is wanted alive. McGrady is hiding out around the large metal train yard in the canyon area. Kill all of McGrady's men first and shoot McGrady's horse to throw off McGrady. Shoot him in the leg and subdue him.
- Head back to Empire and drop by the Indian Trader. Pick up the Shotgun Barrel Choke 2, Premium Arrow Fletching, True Flight Bow Talisman, Hatchet Sharpener and Extra Quiver.
- Move back into Empire and speak to Daryl for a Pony Express mission. Talk to Speedy Pete standing nearby and hop on a horse. Ride along the stagecoach path and pick up a new horse east of the Indian Hunter.
- TIP: Instead of using the canyon to travel to Dodge, follow the railroad track. The path is slightly quicker and avoids all the Apaches.
- TIP: Pick up a Scalping Knife in Dodge City to complete the "Every Upgrade Collected" achievement.
- Speak to Earl in Dodge City for another Pony Express mission. Talk to the shopkeeper. He needs Colton to deliver some medical supplies. Follow the stagecoach path and speak to a dying man named Willie.
- Willie's horse is being held by a group of Apaches to the north. Shoot the four Apaches on foot and the Apache on Willie's horse. Hop on the horse and continue along the path. Speak to Dan to end the mission.
- Ride to Empire and speak to Daryl for the final time. He needs Colton to deliver railroad track plans along the route to Dodge. Follow the rail line east to reach the first railroad worker. Continue following the rail to reach four more workers. Keep swapping out for fresh horses and blow past the Apaches on the route. Get a drink at the Alhambra in Dodge to end the mission.
- Take a look at the nearby Wanted Poster in Dodge City. Wayland Payne is in Blackfoot territory. Hop on a horse and ride on the ferry. Kill Payne's men near the camp using quick-draw and hop off the horse to subdue Payne. It should be easy as the Blackfoot continue to shoot arrows into him.
- Ride back to Dodge and check the Wanted Poster again. The Bandit brothers are wanted. James Booth needs to be killed and Bob Booth taken alive. The brothers are always on the move. Check the radar to pinpoint their position. They are typically on the stagecoach trail. Shoot James in the head and shoot Bob's horse to subdue him.
- Check any Wanted Poster to start the Blackbird Boys mission. This gang is in the pasture east of Empire. Ten men are inside the small canyon area to the south and five riders appear from the tunnel to the north.
- Check a Wanted Poster for the last time. Bob the Blade is wanted alive. His gang is located where the stagecoach took a spill and had to be repaired. Kill all the gang members and Bob jumps down from the stone ledge. Use the pistols to shoot his leg and subdue him.
- NOTE: All skills accept for Gunhand should be at maximum at this point in the game.
The Great White Hunter
- TIP: The trick to killing the animals with the bow is crouching and approaching slowly. Horses cannot be used. Wait for a prompt about firing range to pop up and shoot the beast in the head.
- TIP: Colton can also simply shoot them with a rifle or pistol. The hunt is over quickly but the stat boost is not as high.
- Speak to the Indian Hunter if you killed the Gray Wolf around Dodge or the ranch. He offers another mission to kill the Great White Buffalo. It grazes in the Badlands across from the ranch.
- The next animal is the White Wolf. The White Wolf hands out at the waterfall near the Indian Trader and the river in the Apache canyon.
- The Mountain Lion creeps around to the southeast of the Indian Hunter. Climb up the mountain and look for the lion on the pass that leads to the old mines.
- The Great Wolf hunts buffalo on the Badlands. Look around the path between Empire and the Ranch to find it creeping around the landscape.
- The Grizzly Bear hangs out next to Empire. Look around the canyon area near the bridge to find it.
- After finishing up all the hunting missions, ride into Apache country and speak to Soapy near the river.
Across The Badlands
- CUTSCENE: Soapy and Colton notice the hanging dead bodies that the Apaches left as a warning. The two are brought to Many Wounds. Many Wounds tells Colton of the Magruder visit to the doctor. Many Wounds was just a child when it happened. Ned White offered to take a baby that survived from the massacre. That baby was Colton. Many Wounds offers the second piece of the cross to Colton. The complete cross is a treasure map.
- YouTube: GUN Across the Badlands (Time: 8:40)
- Walk down the mountain and hop on the horse near Many Wounds. Follow him to the Badlands. Ready the rifle as Magruder's men attack the group. Use quick-draw and the rifle to kill every soldier.
- Follow Soapy to Piker Lake. Walk up the mountain path to the north and shoot the mountain lions as they appear. Follow Soapy to the top of the peak.
- NEW WEAPON: The Loco Dynamite Bow is one of the most powerful weapons around.
- CUTSCENE: Soapy and Colton are looking over the land. Soapy translates the Latin writing and Colton uses the cross to find the entrance. Unfortunately a cannon blast from a nearby train hits Colton. Soapy goes tumbling down the mountain and forced into Magruder's train car.
Escape the Ambush
- YouTube: GUN Escape the Ambush (Time: 9:32)
- Run for the busted house and use it for cover. Peek around the corners to shoot the explosive barrels in the area. Magruder's Militia is deadly and has extremely good aim. Kill the remaining men in the area with quick-draw mode.
- CUTSCENE: Soapy is being tortured in the train car. Magruder is shooting off Soapy's fingers. Soapy tells him where to find the treasure and escapes after Magruder turns his back on Soapy.
- Move slowly around the next corner and shoot at the heads of the militia. Continue down the path to shoot more militia with quick-draw mode. Be careful of the tunnel as it's full of explosives.
- Stay at the edge of the tunnel when the swordsmen charge Colton. Use the rifle to pick them off. Hop on a horse and ride down to Soapy.
- CUTSCENE: Soapy apologizes to Colton about telling Magruder everything. Colton helps Soapy up and tells him to get a message to Clay about attacking the mine. Colton leaves to settle Soapy's debt with Magruder's muscle.
- Dutchie is on the train using a Howitzer cannon. Take cover at the train engine and pull out the rifle. Ride around the clearing and pop shots into Dutchie's head. Watch out for the men shooting from the train and riders coming from the northwest.
- TIP: Never stop moving! Dutchie's cannon packs a mean punch when Colton takes a direct hit.
