Welcome to Empire
- Before attacking the main story again, take a look at the new side missions. Look for the wanted poster on wall of Hoodoo's saloon. Butch Mainard is outside of Empire and along the road that the stagecoach just rode in on. Follow the radar and shoot his horse to subdue him.
- Ride back into Empire, but stop at the Indian Trader. Pick up some Mild Herbs to increase quick-draw duration by 25%. Head back to the wanted poster and start the mission for John H. Greed. Leave Empire again and follow the same stagecoach path. Greed starts riding away on his horse as Colton approach.
- TIP: Try to kill the horse before Greed reaches the second canyon. His bodyguards are too much of a hindrance. If Greed reaches the second canyon, forgo the extra payout and kill Greed.
- Ride back to Empire and take the Shifty Sholz wanted poster mission. Shifty is hiding out in the canyon that Colton had to blow up with the explosive barrels. Ride through the canyon and shoot Shifty in the head. Shoot his cohorts as well and take the horse back to Dodge City.
- TIP: You may have enough cash to purchase the Heavy Cylinder Boring Kit from the Dodge City shopkeeper.
- GOLD: Ride out over the Dodge City Bridge and mine the deposit to the far left of the train tracks. (5/44)
- GOLD: Look on the right side of the tracks in the same area. Climb the small hill and leap over the canyon overhang on the horse. Mine the gold deposit on the opposite side. (6/44)
- Ride back to Empire and speak to the Federal Marshall. He needs help with the ambush of the Miller gang. Move to the starting position in southeast Empire. Climb to the roof via the stairs and throw explosive barrels into the intersection. Wait for the Miller gang to arrive and shoot the barrels. Chase down any survivors.

There's Gold in Them There Hills!
- NOTE: You can gather up the gold at any point during the game. The advantage to doing it immediately is the ability to upgrade equipment and stats sooner. This helps tremendously on Hard or Insane difficulty. Here's a rundown of all the available gold around Empire and Dodge.
- Grab a horse in Empire and ride into the ditch in the middle of town. Trot toward the train tracks and mine the gold in the far left corner. (7/44)
- Ride to the opposite side of the ditch and look for another gold deposit in the narrow stream. (8/44)
- Look for an entrance to another portion of the canyon near the Livery Stables. Ride to the northwest along that path to find three gold deposits in a small cave. (9/44), (10/44), (11/44)
- Turn around and ride along the ditch to the east. After Colton passes the horseshoe shaped rock passage, use the horse to jump up the hill to the immediate left. There is a gold deposit at the top of the highest position of that hill. It's in a small cave. (12/44)
- From Empire, follow the train tracks to the east. Look for a small passage on the right rock wall when the train tracks start to diverge. (There's usually a bandit attack here.) Look for a gold deposit just inside the entrance and a second deposit in the rear of the clearing near some wolves. (13/44), (14/44)
- Continue following the railroad track to the east. Look on the left side of tracks to spot a gold deposit against the rock wall. (15/44)
- Follow the railroad track past the farm on the right. Look for a large canyon area on the left. There's a small house in the clearing. Look for a mine entrance to the west of that house. There are two gold deposits in the mine. (16/44), (17/44)
- Ride to the northeast of the house to find a gold deposit against the rock wall. (18/44)
- Backtrack to the rail and ride east. Follow the path towards Dodge City. When the track diverges into a tunnel on the left, look for a gold deposit at the top of that tunnel entrance. (19/44)
- Continue following the rail east and look for another gold deposit on the right side. It hugs the rock wall. (20/44)
- Follow the path of the recent stagecoach mission. Follow the road to the wooden bridge. Instead of crossing over it, ride the horse to the right. There is a narrow path with a gold deposit. (21/44)
- Continue along that narrow path and drop off the corner of the ledge. Hug the wall on the left and look for a second gold deposit along the wall. (22/44)
- Move along the path towards Empire and stop at the area that the stagecoach broke down. Look for a gold deposit in the muddy stream. It's on the north end. (23/44)
- Continue up the mountain. Pass two buildings on the right and two buildings on the left. Instead of following the bend to the left, look for a gold deposit on the rock face to the northeast. (24/44)
- Look out for a deposit behind the next building to the right. Colton has to climb a rock face on the left of the building to reach it. (25/44)
- Ride west and look for a house on stilts. Ride up the path to the left of the house and follow it to a gold deposit over the train tunnel entrance. (26/44)
- Look along the wall to the northeast of the large metal enclosure. There is a gold deposit hugging the wall. (27/44)
- Ride to the west past the Indian Hunter. Look for a house on stilts. Walk up the path on the right and immediately turn around to spot a gold deposit behind a rock. (28/44)
- Backtrack to the Indian Hunter and ride into Piper Lake towards the south. Look on the south side to mine a gold deposit on the ledge. (29/44)
- Look to the northwest of the dock house on the water. There is a gold deposit sitting in the shallow water near a large rock. (30/44)
- Follow the path east of the Indian Trader. Look for a gold deposit behind a tree on the left. (31/44)
- Climb the trail to the north of the previous gold deposit. There is a gold deposit in the cave tunnel. (32/44)
- Look southwest of the Indian Trader to find a gold deposit on a gray rock ledge. There is also a gold deposit behind the nearby waterfall. (33/44), (34/44)
- Ride into canyon to the left of the waterfall. Follow the path to the right. The area opens up into a small rocky clearing. Look for a blue stream in the middle of the clearing. Follow it to the left to find a gold deposit. (35/44)
- Follow the stream to the opposite end and mine another gold deposit. (36/44)
- Continue northwest up the mountain and look for a small cave under a camp. (Don't worry about the men in the white masks) The gold deposit is underneath the camp. (37/44)
- Move up into the camp and follow the path along the rock wall. There is a gold deposit to the east. (38/44)
- Follow the path back into Empire. Look for a gold deposit on the left side of the canyon wall. (39/44)
- NOTE: The remaining five gold deposits are in sections of the game that can't be reached yet.
- Colton should have about $350 at this point. Pick up the 2nd Extra Health Slot in Dodge City. Load up on Powerful Medicine at the Indian Trader. Head back to Empire and collect the Quality Horseshoes, Premium Horse Chow, Rifle Speed Loader, Rifle Speed Loader 2, Barrel Extension, Long Barrel Extension, Shotgun Ammo Belt and the Rifle Ammo Belt.
- Return to Hoodoo's place in Empire. Save the game and speak to Hoodoo's Deputy.
-
-
Law and Order
- CUTSCENE: The deputy takes Colton up to Hoodoo's office. Colton asks Hoodoo about Reed and Hoodoo wants Colton to be a deputy in exchange for the information. Colton reluctantly accepts the job. Colton follows Webb and Rudabaugh out the door.
- YouTube: GUN Law and Order (Time: 10:01)
- Hop on the horse and follow the duo to the saloon. Walk inside the saloon and speak to the bartender. Colton asks about Chavez and two men at the bar spot his badge. They draw their pistols on Colton.
- Immediately hit RB for quick-draw mode and use LS to fire headshots at the six masked men in the room. Chavez shows up to see the bloodbath and makes a run for it.
- Hop on the nearby horse and race towards Chavez. Follow him into the ranch and shoot the four masked men that ride out to meet Colton. Ride up to the ranch and fire the rifle at the masked men in the distance.
- CUTSCENE: Webb and Rudabaugh storm the barn on the ranch to find Chavez and his wife hiding. Colton turns his back for a moment and the duo shoot the two ranchers in cold blood. Colton turns his gun on Webb and Rudabaugh.
- Hang back in the barn and allow Rudabaugh to move in. Use the cover of the barn stalls to fire rifle shots into his head. Webb just rides around on his horse until Colton leaves the barn.
- Kill Webb by strafing between the bails of hay. Watch his location on the radar and fire rifle shots at his head or horse. Remember to hit the health button (Up on the D-Pad) if Colton is low on health.
- NEW WEAPON: Rudabaugh's Double Barrel Colt Shotgun has twice the fire rate and amazing stopping power at close range.
- NEW WEAPON: Webb's Volcanic 10 pistol has a quick reload and holds 10 bullets.

Jack of all Trades
- Time to knock out some ranch hand missions. Speak to the rancher about herding the calves back into the pen. Ride behind the calves and push them towards the pen in the corner.
- Follow the rancher to the Badlands. Herd the small calves to the longhorn first and follow the longhorn to the ranch. Herd any strays back to the longhorn.
- Speak to rancher again and he offer a Mustang recovery mission. Hop on a horse and ride west toward Empire. The horses are in a pen in the canyon area. It's near a gold spot.
- Break down the pen with X and drive the horses back to the ranch. It's easier to herd each horse separately.
- Speak to the rancher again. He wants Colton to check up on the herd. Hop on a horse and ride north. The herd is near the old mine shaft. Simply ride around and use quick-draw to kill all the wolves.
- Ride back to Empire and speak to Daryl for a pony express mission. Speak to Johnny in the nearby camp. He wants Colton to take his horse to the Livery Stables for new horseshoes. Hop on the horse and ride to the stables. It's on the north end of town.
- Speak to Daryl again. He heard that Stumpy McNubbs needs help at the hardware shack. Ride east to find Stumpy. He needs Colton to ride to the railroad foreman at Piker Lake.
- Hop on the horse and follow the rail east out of Empire. Cut through the first tunnel on the left and look for the foremen along the rail. Ignore the Apaches.
- Ride back to Empire and speak to the Federal Marshal. He needs Colton to locate some stolen Smallpox vaccine. Ride to the southeast end of Empire and look for bandits on the rooftop.
- TIP: Shoot as many bandits as possible from horseback. It's easier than looking for cover on the rooftops. Watch out for the bandit on the Gatling gun. He's near the smallpox vaccine.
- Speak to the Federal Marshal again to get a mission in the Badlands. Ride out to the mine across from the ranch. Take out the rifle and use the zoom when entering.
- Look for two bandits at the front of the mine and two bandits holding some Chinese workers hostage. Use the rifle on all four men and avoid hitting the TNT barrels around the mine. Move up the passage on the left to find two more hostage takers. Use quick-draw to kill both men.
- Ride back into Dodge City and pick up Shotgun Speed Loader 2. Ride back to Empire to start another Federal Marshall mission. He's expecting a stage from Dodge City.
- Follow the rail back to Dodge and look for the driver of the stagecoach near the entrance of the canyon. The driver is an impostor. Ready the quick-draw and kill the four bandits around the stagecoach. Kill the remaining bandits that charge on horseback from the east.
- Talk to the real driver. He needs Colton to clear the path back to Dodge City. Look for TNT in the same area as the gold deposit on the ledge above. Blow up the rock in the path to end the mission.
- Ride back to Empire and try to pass by the Indian Trader. Pick up the Quality Arrowheads and ride into Empire to chat with Hoodoo.
