  • The Middle Eastern Gulf of Oman is located between the Arabian Sea and the Strait of Hormuz, which is the gateway to the Persian Gulf. The Gulf of Oman is considered to be part of the Persian Gulf, not an arm of the Arabian Sea.

    The Gulf borders Pakistan and Iran to the north and Oman and United Arab Emirates to the south.

    The Gulf of Oman is home to abundant and varied marine life, making if a popular destination for scuba divers, although overfishing and heavy traffic have deteriorated many of the area's coral reefs
