Guitar Hero World Tour publisher Activision has received numerous complaints about malfunctioning instrument peripherals since the game's launch on October 26, 2008. History Repeating Itself
Guitar Hero World Tour's major competitor, Rock Band faced a similar problem with peripherals when it launched in 2007. Numerous users who bought the game immediately upon release received faulty guitars and some encountered problems with the drum kits as well.
