About Guitar Hero: Metallica
The final set list of Guitar Hero: Metallica contains 28 Metallica songs. The remaining 17 songs in the game are either personal favorites of the band or were performed by bands who opened for Metallica over the years. Each song was selected personally by the members of Metallica.Unlike Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, Metallica doesn't follow the career of the band chronologically. This is because some of Metallica's earlier songs are decidedly difficult to play and would quickly alienate gamers if encountered early in the game. Instead, players will form their own band and be mentored by Metallica, who invites them to open for the band on tour.
Even battle matches have been given a Metallica theme. Players can use the "Fade to Black" move, which completely blacks out their opponent's fretboard. "Trapped Under Ice" freezes the other player's whammy bar.USA Today: Guitar Hero strikes the right chord with Metallica (December 14, 2008)
