  • About the Game

Guitar Hero: Metallica is the second title in the Guitar Hero series to focus entirely on the career of a single rock band. Twenty-eight Metallica songs are featured in the game, as well as 17 additional songs that are either personal favorites of the band or performed by groups who have opened for Metallica in the past.

The game features a ton of bonus content, including behind-the-scenes footage, commentary and videos. Updates to the Music Studio include samples of singer James Hetfield's guitar, as well as the guitar of Slayer's Tom Araya. After playing a song, the option to replay the tune with informational pop ups becomes available. These provide trivia about the song or, for songs by guest bands, details about why the song was chosen for the game.IGN: Guitar Hero: Metallica Official Site: Guitar Hero: Metallica

Additionally, there are Metallica-themed Battle Mode attacks. These include "Fade to Black," which completely blacks out their opponent's fretboard, and "Trapped Under Ice," which freezes the other guy's whammy bar.USA Today: Guitar Hero strikes the right chord with Metallica (December 14, 2008)
