Guitar Amp

Categories: Products | Music
    • First introduced in the early 1930s to complement electric guitars
    • Tube amps utilize vacuum tubes to provide a warm sound that is especially taken advantage of in the rock and blues formats
    • Solid-state amps utilize less expensive circuitry than tube amps and are easier to service
    • Amps can come in the form of a combo amplifier or an amp "stack"
  • Electric guitars and electric bass guitars utilize guitar amplifiers in order to hear the sounds that are coming out of the instrument. Popular manufacturers of guitar amps include Marshall and Fender. Ampeg is a prominent manufacturer of bass amps.
  • Combo Amps

Combo amps are an all-in-one combination of the two central components of the guitar amp, the electronics and the actual speaker or speakers from which the louder sound disseminates.
  • Amp Stacks

Amp stacks are so called because the amp "head" that contains the electronic circuitry is self-contained and separate from the speakers, which are enclosed in a speaker cabinet.
