Guilty Gear 2: Overture is an action game for the Xbox 360. The first official numbered sequel to Guilty Gear on the PlayStation 1, Guilty Gear Overture is not a 2D fighting game like the other games in the franchise, but a 3D action game with real-time strategy elements. The player controls a character on a battlefield with a goal of destroying their enemies' bases. Combat is like in an action game with weak and heavy attacks, while there are elements of real-time strategy in units the character can deploy and command, and resources to control and manage.IGN: Guilty Gear 2 Hands-On (April 14, 2008) Characters from the other Guilty Gear games appear, like Sol Badguy and Ky Kiske.1up.com: Guilty Gear 2 Preview (April 30, 2008)
Gameplay
In Guilty Gear 2 the player controls a character on a map populated by a series of bases called Ghosts. These Ghosts produce units, and the player's goal is to capture of all of the enemy's Ghosts or kill the opposing side's leader. When captured, a Ghost begins to produce units for the player which begin to attack rival Ghosts. Players can also summon units through the D-Pad, whereupon they can direct them and deploy them wherever they go. Each character will have different units based on their own fighting style. Combat features weak and strong attacks, air combos, super moves and strategic dashing.
