Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy, The Hobbit) is developing the children's story Pinocchio as a stop-motion film in collaboration with the Jim Henson Company. - A wooden puppet made by Geppetto, Pinocchio was brought to life by the Blue Fairy but his nose grows every time he tells a lie. Pinocchio must prove himself worthy before he can be made into a real boy. During his quest, the puppet is tricked by Honest John who gives Pinocchio to the wicked puppeteer, Stromboli. When Pinocchio is sent to Pleasure Island, a land where bad little boys are turned into donkeys, he manages to escape with the help of Jiminy Cricket.
