Guggenheim Museum

  • The Guggenheim is named after Solomon Guggenheim who opened the original Guggenheim Museum in New York City in 1939 to showcase his collection of art. Famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright was commissioned in 1943 to build a new permanent home, the new building opened in 1959, six months after Lloyd's death.
