Grocery Store Musical, a video featuring shoppers in a Queens, New York, supermarket bursting into song in the produce aisle, was making the rounds on YouTube and elsewhere in October 2009. The video, in which the singers belt out "Let's squish our fruit together," was the latest effort from the comedy troupe Improv Everywhere. As stunned shoppers look on, several "shoppers" join in the celebration of fruit and all things produce.
The Improv Everywhere comedy troupe stages pranks in cities, usually New York City that involve large amounts of people doing something silly in public. They are famous for the annual No Pants Subway Ride.
