Gremlins

Gremlins is a 1984 movie about a teenager who receives an unusual pet as a gift. A furry, cuddly animal called a Mogwai, the pet turns out to be an unusual creature who eventually spawns a number of unpleasant and destructive monsters (known as "Gremlins"). With executive production by Steven Spielberg and a script by Christopher Columbus, the movie was a commercial success and spawned a sequel, Gremlins 2: The New Batch.
