Gregory Peck was an award-winning American film actor. He was a big star for 20th Century Fox from the 1940s to the 1960s. He was nominated for five Academy Awards.
After graduating from Cal Berkeley with a B.A. in english, he moved to New York to study at the Neighborhood Playhouse with Sanford Meisner. He returned west to Hollywood and in 1949 founded the La Jolla Playhouse with fellow actors, Jose Ferrer and Dorothy McGuire.
His most iconic roles were as Atticus Finch in the 1962 film version of To Kill a Mockingbird and Captain Ahab in the 1956 version of Moby Dick.
