Gregory Helms

Career

A former WCW Cruiserweight Champion, Gregory Helms debuted in the WWE in 2001. He adopted a superhero gimmick as "The Hurricane," spoofing Superman and the Green Lantern.

In 2002, Helms won multiple titles, including the Hardcore and Cruiserweight championships. He also held the World Tag Team Championship with Kane.

The following year, Helms regained the tag titles partnered with a new superhero sidekick, Rosey. As a singles wrestler, Helms feuded with The Rock and Jerry Lawler.

At the 2006 Royal Rumble, Helms won the Cruiserweight Championship for the third time. He held the title until February 2007, making him one of the longest-reigning champions.WWE.com: Gregory Helms

  • 2006-2007: Had the longest Cruiserweight title reign in WWE history.

  • May 18, 2007: Broke two vertebrae in his neck. He has been inactive ever since.
