Greg Valentine is a semi retired professional wrestler. He wrestled for the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), and the World Wrestling Council (WWC). On November 9, 2009, he reunited with former partner Brutus Beefcake.
Wrestling Career
Valentine began his wrestling career in 1970. Valentine wrestled in the NWF based out of Cleveland, Ohio, the NWA's Los Angeles territory, and the Stampede promotion based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. During this time Valentine won the NWF World Tag Titles, the NWA Western States Tag Titles, and the NWA Americas Title. Valentine then began wrestling for the NWA's Mid Atlantic territory in 1976. His father Johnny was also wrestling in the Mid-Atlantic area. In 1976, Valentine's father was involved in a serious plane crash. His father was paralyzed due to the accident. Valentine won the Mid-Atlantic Television Title on February 15, 1977 from Rufus R. Jones. http://www.wrestling-titles.com Valentine formed a tag team during this time with Ric Flair. The duo went on to win the NWA World Tag Team Title on three occasions. Valentine and Flair were involved in a long feud with Ole and Gene Anderson over the titles. Valentine would go to wrestle for WWE. He challenged Bob Backlund for the WWE Title several times but would come up short. Valentine then returned to the Mid-Atlantic area and feuded with old partner Flair. In 1983, he began a brutal feud with "Rowdy" Roddy Piper over the title. The feud culminated in a dog collar chain match at Starrcade 1983. Piper won the bloody, brutal match and the United States Title.
In 1984, Valentine returned to the WWE. He began challenging Intercontinental Champion Tito Santana for his title. Valentine left the WWE in the early 1990s to join WCW. He won the WCW U. S. Tag Title with Terry Taylor.

Valentine's greatest match took place on July 26, 1980. He defeated former tag partner Ric Flair for the NWA United States Title.
