He continued to play in the first half, totaling almost 13 minutes, but then sat for the rest of the second half of the game.   • Career So Far

    Oden's freshman year at Ohio State began with surgery to his right wrist. As a result, he did not play until December 2, 2006. Due to his injury, Oden learned to play left handed. He was named First Team All-Big Ten and was voted the conference's Defensive Player of the Year. He helped lead the Buckeyes to the NCAA Championship game in 2007.

    Oden was taken #1 overall in the 2007 NBA Draft by the Portland Trail Blazers. That September, he had surgery on his right knee and missed his entire rookie season. Oden fully recovered in time for the 2008-09 season.
