Greg Norman is a professional golfer from Australia. Nicknamed "The Shark," Norman had 87 PGA wins and spent 331 weeks ranked as the world's number one golfer during the 1980s and 1990s.
In July 2008, Norman emerged from a three year retirement to play the British Open at the age of 53. Going into the July 20 final round, he was ranked first. Norman finished the tournament in 3rd place, two spots behind the eventual winner Padraig Harrington.
Triumphant Return
In his first major golf tournament in three years, Norman ranked first overall going into the final round of the 2008 British Open. Negotiating high winds, he overcame South Korea's K.J. Choi and 2007 Open champion Padraig Harrington. Norman eventually faltered in the final round and finished the tournament in 3rd place.
