Greg Hastings Paintball 2 is a video game released on September 28, 2010 for the Wii, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. It is the sequel to the Greg Hastings Tournament Paintball released on November 16, 2004 for the xBox. http://www.gamespot.com/xbox/sports/greghastingstournamentpaintball/review.html?om_act=convert&om_clk=gssummary&tag=summary%3Bread-review The game follows the formatting and rules of actual paintball gaming; players are eliminated whenever opponents mark them with their team's paint color and victory can be achieved by capturing the enemy's flag. Categorized as a first-person shooter, gameplay relies on the ability to aim and take cover without taking hits as well as working as a team to achieve objectives.
Players are able to customize their own battlefields during local play in single player exhibition or split screen formats. Another option is to play online against friends or random gamers via Nintendo WFC. http://www.marketwatch.com/story/majesco-entertainment-announces-the-shipment-of-greg-hastings-paintball-2-for-xbox-360-and-wiitm-2010-09-28?reflink=MW_news_stmp A leaderboard is provided for online gaming to help players keep track of where they stand with the rest of the world's paintball competitors. The following walkthrough is for the Nintendo Wii version of the game and is under the Wii Remote and Nunchuck controller format. Due to the non-linear nature of the game, this guide provides tips for success in each level rather than step-by-step instructions.

Greg Hastings Paintball 2 Gameplay
Players assemble and design their own teams, then compete on 62 fields derived from actual locations. http://www.gregredhastings.com/overview/ Capturing the opposing team's flag and eliminating enemies earns cash for weapon upgrades and unlocks new levels to play. The game also allows for trading team members and earning achievement medals. Other unlock-able items include: movies, images, bios and a history of the sport. http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/greghastingspaintball2/news.html?sid=6266619&mode=previewsThe ability to wipe the paint off after being hit is also an option, but this is considered cheating and will have the player and a teammate eliminated from the game if noticed by the referee. Players have the option of playing locally, online or in career mode.
Aside from the primary paintball weapons, there are also sidearm pistols, pumpguns, rocket launchers and paint grenades available for purchase.
There are 3 types of events to choose from in career mode:
- Speedball- Players face off on a contained field comprised with an equal amount of inflatable bunkers and teammates on both sides.

Greg Hastings Paintball 2 - Overall Game Walkthrough
Tips and Hints:
- Running for a prolonged period of time causes your helmet to fog up and obscure the view through your safety glasses. There are helmets that can be purchased that have a higher resistance to this fog, but overall it's advisable to keep your movements to bursts of short distances.
- To successfully cheat, wait until the oscillating bar is lined up with the paint splatter on your screen and then hit the A Button.
- The best options of cover are indoor structures such as airplane and tank shells, huts or within the walls of a fort. They usually will have ports to fire from and one to two entrances to keep watch on.
- Look for multiple story structures and locate their staircases as an elevated position is always an advantage. However, these positions are usually less covert and once an enemy detects you, it's best to abandon the perch.
- If available, the best structures for traveling undetected are the sewer pipe and the trench. However, the trench is vulnerable to enemies standing over you and the sewer pipe to attacks from behind. The worst cover are the trees in the woodsball competitions.
- In the Blackjack scenario, you are only limited to 21 pellets. Aside from limiting your fire rate it is also a advisable to only fire at an enemy when they are only a few feet from you. The enemy is also limited to this ammo restriction and are less likely to fire upon you so traveling about the level can be done more haphazardly.
- Sliding and diving between bunkers lowers your chances of being hit.
- Paint grenades and rocket launchers score multiple hits on individual enemies and remove the possibility of cheating.
- You can dive under the X-shaped bunker in the center of some speedball fields for strategic covers.
- Rather then charging up the center of the field, it's sometimes safer to travel along the sidelines of the level where the cover is more extended and less of the enemy's focus is concentrated.
- To run at full speed from the start of the round, hold the control stick up until the character icon is in the running position.
- Coming up from a prone position slows your player down, so only do it when under cover.
- In Reinsertion games, click through the different camera views after being eliminated. Then when you respawn, you'll have a better idea of the enemy's position and can plan more effectively.
Greg Hastings Paintball 2 - Capture the Flag Walkthrough
Objectives:
Two Flag CTF requires you to run to the opponents starting point on the opposite side of the field, retrieve the flag and return it to your home's starting point without taking any hits. Both the flag's pick-up point and return point look like metal bicycle racks.
Center Flag CTF requires you to run to the center of the battlefield, retrieve the flag attached to the pole sticking in the ground and return it to your home's return point without taking any hits.
Tips and Hints:
- In matches where reinsertion is not an option, it is sometimes a better strategy to eliminate the opposing team first, rather than risk the exposure of taking the flag.
- Whenever the player holding the flag takes a hit, the flag drops in whatever spot the elimination took place. Keeping that in mind, it is good strategy to closely follow a teammate holding the flag, because if they are eliminated, the flag can quickly be snatched up and continue on towards the return point.
- Sometimes the best offense is a good defense. Post up in a position where cover is satisfactory and a clear line of fire is available on either the center flag or your own home's starting point flag. If you are playing against the computer, the enemy will inevitably show up to snatch the flag and make themselves an easy target. It should be noted that in reinsertion games, this tactic puts a lot of faith in your own teammates to mount a successful offense while you hold down the fort.
- In games where winning depends on the most points at the end of a round, wait until your team is ahead and less than a minute or two remains. Then, capture the flag from its point of origin and instead of scoring, find a place where cover is heavy and run out the clock to avoid giving the opposing team additional chances to score.
- In 2 Flag CTF, should you make it to the opposing team's side of the field with the flag, check the peripheral bunkers on either side as the enemy will often hide here as a defensive measure. This is especially prudent on the speedball fields.
- Diving or sliding into the return point is a good defense measure for making it the extra few inches to achieve victory without taking any last minute hits.
- In Center Flag CTF, once your team has obtained the flag, never move backwards, even for elusive purposes. Should you be hit during this time, then you have only moved the flag closer to the enemy's target destination.
Greg Hastings Paintball 2 - X-Ball and Race to Walkthrough
Objectives:
Race to will set a goal for the number of points required per round. The first team to reach this number wins the round.
X-ball requires you to eliminate all enemies or capture the flag for 1 point each. The team with the most points by the time the round ends is declared the winner.
Tips and Hints:
- In Race to scenarios, the clock is irrelevant so it is better to take the time to find a advantageous spot and patiently pick enemies off one-by-one.
- If you find your team behind in points, try observing the enemy's attack strategy at the beginning of each game reset. If they are moving in a specific direction consistently or are revolving their maneuvers in a specific pattern, then adjust your team commands before each game accordingly.
- At the beginning of each round, you will see the names of your enemies bunched together and floating above their heads. Aim the gun a few inches above them before the game starts and fire rapidly when the count down hits zero. Your team will also fire their guns in this direction. If your aim is accurate, it should eliminate a few of the enemies before they have a chance to get into their tactical positions.
- If the match is tied and nearing a finish, command your team into the defensive position, in case you are eliminated then a few will hang back for your use.
Greg Hastings Paintball 2 - Sniper Walkthrough
Objective:
Sniper is a game that requires you to hit three small circular targets on the opponents side of the fields. The targets are usually spread out or clumped together, but are always near the starting point for the enemy team. The first team to knock over all three targets will be declared the winner
Tips and Hints:
- To play a successful defense, take cover near your targets, or just one of them if they are spread apart, and keep sight out across the entire field. The enemy should come racing up towards the targets, in which case you can pick them off.
- To play successful offense, stay low to the ground and move from cover to cover until you are close enough to hit each target without exposing your position to enemy. Rushing straight at the target is ill-advised as they are often positioned near the starting point, so there is likely a higher amount of enemies near the targets then anywhere else.
- Equip the pumpgun before the match. It fires at a further range, which is key to hitting targets or enemies from either the offensive or defensive positions. As you progress through the video game, longer range weapons will become available.
- It is sometimes unnecessary to move from a single covered firing position if the targets are spread apart. If the gun fires far enough and there are no obstructions in the way, then simply accommodate for wind and distance for each individual target.
Greg Hastings Paintball 2 - Assault Walkthrough
Objective:
Assault requires you to either defend or attack up to four assault points on the field. If the attacking team touches an assault point, that point is lost. If all points are lost, the attacking team wins. If time runs out, the defending team wins.
Tips and Hints:
- In offensive situations, it's best to command your team toward one direction, so that enemy will also face this direction when setting up their defenses. Take this opportunity to travel the other direction and come up from behind the enemy's assault point. You can wipe out entire teams this way and capture the points effortlessly.
- In defensive situations it's best to command your team for defensive maneuvers and then travel a short distance from the assault point. This will give you a vantage point on attacking enemies who will pay you no mind, because they are only interested with capturing your point.
- An effective defensive ploy is to set yourself up near a point scattered with bunkers or near the opening of a narrow path or tunnel. This creates a bottleneck situation for invading enemies and makes them easy targets.
- In the event of a non-reinsertion scenario, your best bet is to simply eliminate the enemy team.
Greg Hastings Paintball 2 - Recon Walkthrough
Objective:
Recon depends on you touching each recon station to gain a point. You can touch a station even if your team controls it. Each person that touches all stations scores 5 bonus points. If all teammates touch the same point, your team earns 5 bonus points as well.
Tips and Hints:
- It is advisable to stick with your teammates during this game, not only to provide cover for one another, but also to clump the point consistency closer together and end the game quicker.
- While it is always a good idea to shoot the enemy's who are in your way, it is a waste of time to attack every opponent you come across as your objectives don't require eliminating each other. The fastest way to end the game is to simply get from point to point and not worry about an enemy, unless he starts firing at you.
- Once you have learned the levels and where the points tend to be located, it's advisable to touch the ones closet to your starting point first. Thus, you can get them out of the way and bank some points at the get-go in case you are eliminated in the process of touching the ones closer to the enemy.
- Equip lighter weaponry and attire for faster movement between points.
Greg Hastings Paintball 2 - Point Capture Walkthrough
Objective:
Point Capture requires you to tag individual flag poles in order to claim them for your team. Each point captured awards 1 point per second and there are 1-4 capture points on a field. The game will end if a team can't make up a point deficit by the end of the time limit.
Tips and Hints:
- If a particular capture point is held within a building or surrounded by walls, then successful defense can be achieved by laying low near the pole and keeping watch out the entranceways for invading enemies.
- If the flags are located in a more open area, then stay back a distance and keep watch on the enemy's side of the horizon. If the flag currently belongs to your team, then the object is to eliminate them before they can get within capturing distance. If the flag belongs to the opposing team, then the object is to eliminate the surrounding enemies so your teammates can capture it for themselves.
- A useful, but more hectic method is by running from enemy flagpole to enemy flagpole and capturing and recapturing as quickly as possible. This will negate the possibility of having all the poles on the field in the enemy's hands at once. A downside to this tactic is that it won't take long before your character is covered in paint and eliminated.
- Depending on the number of present capture points, it's acceptable to allow the enemy to hold onto at least one flag pole while you focus on the others, as long as you control the majority. For example if there are 4 flagpoles and you capture three then you will be ahead in points continuously at a 3 to 1 ratio.
- Keeping the number of capture points equal between the two opposing teams is acceptable as long as you are already ahead in points.
