  • NHL Career

    De Vries entered the NHL in 1994 by signing as a free agent with the Edmonton Oilers. He was assigned to their American Hockey League affiliate, the Cape Breton Oilers, for two seasons before making his NHL debut in 1996. On October 1, 1998, de Vries was traded to the Nashville Predators. He played just nine games with the Predators before he was sent to the Colorado Avalanche on October 24, 1998. De Vries played five seasons with the Avalanche, then played one season with the New York Rangers. On August 23, 2005, he was traded to the Atlanta Thrashers. He spent two years in Atlanta before entering free agency and signing with the Nashville Predators on July 2, 2007.
