American comic book artist Greg Capullo replaced Todd McFarlane as the regular artist on Spawn and has also created his own project, The Creech.
Career
Capullo began work for Marvel Comics after they'd expressed admiration for his work on Gore Shriek, a short-lived horror comic book series. During his time at Marvel Comics, he worked on Quasar, X-Force and What If?.
Impressed with Capullo's work on X-Force, Todd McFarlane convinced him to leave Marvel Comics and join Image Comics to work on the Spawn comic book series. He is now considered the company's main asset.
Greg Capullo Quote
"The comic artist that I worshipped above all was John Buscema—master of the human figure. No artist, past or present, possesses such complete understanding. Rest his soul. Apart from Big John, I loved Gene Colon, John Romita, Gil Kane, Rudy Nebris, Barry Windsor Smith, Bernie Wrightson, etc. There were others also, but these guys topped my list."—Spawn.com
