Early History
Greenpeace began as an initiative to protest nuclear weapons testing programs in Alaska and the South Pacific. They sailed boats into the regions and disrupted the tests with their presence. Greenpeace would continue to employ this technique, most famously in the 70s in their opposition to the whaling industry. -
