Greek Food

Greek food is the cuisine originating from Greece, and a huge part of Mediterranean cuisine. Greek cooking generously uses ingredients such as olive oil, vegetables and herbs, grains and bread, wine, fish, and various meats. The meats mainly include, poultry and rabbit. The Greeks never ate meat unless it had been sacrificed to a god, or had been hunted in the wild.

Some of the typical ingredients that are mostly used in Greek cuisine are lamb and pork, olives, cheese, eggplant, zucchini, and yogurt. The desserts are traditionally garnished with nuts and honey.As the Greek culture has many different foods, they also have their very own traditional drink. Ouzo, is one of the most well known drinks in Greece. It has a very strong and unique taste, that is like licorice. Some of the herbs that are used to create this drink are mint, wintergreen, and licorice. Ouzo is also sometimes used in mixed drinks.
