  • The Great Barrier Reef is just off the coast of Queensland, Australia. The easiest access to the islands is from the small city of Cairns. Most restaurants are located within the resorts on the individual islands. For example, Hamilton and Hayman Islands each have one main resort, and there are a few dining options that are situated throughout them.
  • Great Barrier Reef Dining

The Hamilton Island Resort has over ten places to dine and drink. One of the best rated is the Beach House Restaurant, which serves a "modern Australian cuisine" right on the resorts beachfront. The menu includes such features as fresh seafood and an "extensive wine list."

The resort also offers some lower-priced, kid-friendly places to eat, such as the Steakhouse. Prices are a bit lower then the Beach House and kids eat free, which is always a plus! Their red meat cuts are flown in from the main land twice a week, so fresh steak is always on hand. Non-beef meals are also available; salmon, sausage and lamb are just a few.
