Graves' disease is an autoimmune disease in which the body's immune system attacks the thyroid gland causing it to produce too many hormones. This overproduction of thyroid hormones is called hyperthyroidism.
Symptoms
Common symptoms include insomnia, fatigue, anxiousness, higher than normal heart rate, sweating more than normal, shaking in hands or fingers, being sensitive to heat, unexplained weight loss, development of a goiter, light periods and frequent bowel movements.MayoClinic.com: Graves' Disease Symptoms
