Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City is a compilation of the downloadable content for Grand Theft Auto IV. The game includes Grand Theft Auto:The Lost and Damned and Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony, but they are available as standalone games meaning that you don’t need the original Grand Theft Auto 4 disc to play them. This compilation was developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games, being rated M for Mature. Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City is available on Xbox 360 (starting with October 29, 2009), PlayStation 3 and PC (starting with April 13, 2010). The only major differences between this compilation and the episodes released previously are:
- 3 New Radio Stations: Vice City FM, RamJam FM and Self-Actualization FM
- The player can access the game directly from the disc (no additional download required)
- Grand Theft Auto IV original disc is not required anymore
- There is no Xbox Live or PlayStation Network account required. However if you intend to access the multiplayer mode, you need them. http://www.rockstargames.com/episodesfromlibertycity
Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned
The first episode of this compilation is The Lost and Damned. The story-line is similar to the one in the DLC (downloadable content). The only changes are in the number of weapons and vehicles, Johnny can use. Some of the weapons introduced in this game are: grenade launcher, automatic pistol, pipe bomb and shotgun. Johnny can also use the custom-made motorcycle. In this version, the player can call different members of the Lost to aid him: Clay will deliver any bike the player requires and Terry will sell different weapons. If you want to join a multiplayer game using this game, you can only do it if the other players are using the same version. You can’t join game hosted by a player who has the DLC version, because Liberty City received some changes.
Grand Theft Auto IV: The Ballad of Gay Tony Features
In the second episode of the game, The Ballad of Gay Tony, the main character is Luis Fernando Lopez which is the bodyguard of Anthony "Gay Tony" Prince, a Dominican drug dealer. There are no differences between the episode from this compilation and the one the players can download. In the multiplayer mode, both games are compatible and there are no restrictions.
