This page provides links to trailers and other videos for Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars, the action game developed by Rockstar Games exclusively for the Nintendo DS. The game has a release date of March 17, 2009.
About the Game
Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars is being developed by Rockstar Leeds, the same development team that worked on the PSP titles Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories and Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories. It is the first game to be released on a Nintendo handheld console since Grand Theft Auto Advance in 2004, and makes full use of the DS' touch screen.
The game is centered around a rivalry between Chinese and Korean gangsters. Players take on the role of 25-year old Huang Lee, who returns to Liberty City to deliver a sword to his uncle.
The goal of the game is to show mature DS owners what the console is capable of. A team of over 50 people has been working on Chinatown Wars for nearly two years. Liberty City from GTA IV has been faithfully recreated in 3D, with an overhead isometric camera. Since the game will likely be played in public places and the speakers on the DS aren't that loud anyway, there is no spoken audio. Instead, the in-game dialog is displayed like a comic book.IGN: Rockstar Leeds Talks GTA DS (February 25, 2009)
