Paving the Way?
Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is the first official Grand Theft Auto game on a Nintendo system since the port of GTA II to the GameBoy Color in 2000. Chinatown Wars is one of the few Mature-rated titles available on either the Nintendo Wii or DS, both of which aim toward family-friendly fun. For Take-Two Interactive, the publisher of the GTA games, could Chinatown Wars be a pre-cursor to developing more mature games for the Wii?
"Even though we think M-rated content is much more appropriate for the PS3 or 360, we have to look at the Wii as a viable platform across all our labels," said Take-Two CEO Ben Feder. "We have to, because we can't ignore the installed base. You just can't."Edge: Take-Two We Can't Just Ignore the Wii (December 17, 2008)
