  • Weapons in GTA IV

During the development of GTA IV, attention was paid to making the weapons and their use more realistic. This required a complete overhaul of the targeting and aiming systems.

The new game focuses more on accuracy in some missions, forcing players to take their time lining up and executing the perfect one-hit kill, as opposed to the indiscriminate mayhem of previous editions. Players can even select specific body parts on their victim. Certain guns, such as the Glock, can be fired while driving as well.

Another major change in GTA IV is the lack of ammunition shops around Liberty City. To make the setting a more realistic recreation of New York, ammo shops have been moved underground, leaving it up to the player to hunt them down.

  • Game Background

The latest addition to the controversial Grand Theft Auto series returns players to Liberty City, where they play as Serbian War veteran, Niko Bellic. While working for his cousin Roman's cab company, Niko gradually enters the Liberty City criminal underworld, balancing violent mayhem on the streets with a gradually developing social life. In addition to 40 hours of standard missions, the game includes a variety of side missions, ranging from assassinations-for-hire to nights out on the town with friends.
