First, you will need access to a police car computer. For easy access, dial 911 and wait for the police to arrive. Enter on the passenger side and force the driver out of the car.

You must be at a complete stop before you can use the computer. Press LB (Xbox 360) or L1 (PS3) and select "View Current Crimes". A map will display all of the crimes currently being committed in the area.

There are three types of crimes: criminal on foot, stolen vehicle and gang activity. The easiest to take care of is "criminal on foot," since you will only be fighting one opponent. Select a crime from the list and the computer will generate a GPS route to your destination. A timer will appear in the upper-right corner of the screen until you reach the crime scene. Take out any criminals when you arrive at the scene.

The vigilante missions are infinite. Complete twenty of them in order to earn 2.5 percent towards 100 percent game completion. This also unlocks the "Clean The Mean Streets" achievement on the Xbox 360 version of the game.GameSpot: Grand Theft Auto IV Game Guide: Side Missions
