Races
- At one point during the storyline missions, you will receive a call from Terry notifying you about the availability of bike street race missions.
- To participate in a bike race, simply pull up your map and find a motorcycle helmet icon. Use your GPS to plot a course there and start.
- Bike races are a fairly simple proposition. You will have to race several other bikers around a fixed circuit. Checkpoints will guide your path across the city. Most races will have you complete three laps around the circuit. Some races will require more or less laps.
- CONTROLS: In addition to riding your bike on the circuit, you will be able to attack other racers with your baseball bat. Pressing X will make Johnny swing his bat to the left. Pressing B will make Johnny swing his bat to the right. If you hold X or B for a second or two, Johnny will charge up a swing that can knock a rival rider off his bike with one hit. Otherwise it will take 4-5 swings to knock someone off.
- ACHIEVEMENT: TLAD - Get Good Wood will unlock when you knock off 69 riders off their bikes in races
- 5min.com: GTA IV - TLAD - Achievement - Get Good Wood (Time: 0:26)
- TIP: Always use charged bat swings to take down enemies if you are going for the achievement. If you wish to obtain the achievement more quickly, you can stay next to a knocked off rider while holding down a button for a charged bat swing. When the enemy tries to get back onto his bike, knock him off again. Rinse and repeat until the achievement unlocks.
- Feel free to use any bike to complete these races. If you can't decide, it is entirely possible to win all of them using the default bike, Johnny's Hexer.
- There are 12 different bike races in all. Completing all of them will get you added % points towards 100% completion. The "Hakuchou" sports bike will be unlocked and parked in front of your safehouse as well.
Gang Wars
- Gang wars are simple mini-missions that pit The Lost against rival gangs in skirmishes across Liberty City. They will unlock as you progress through the main story missions.
- To participate in a Gang War, pull up your map and look for an explosion icon to head towards.
- The Gang War will start when you ride through the yellow marker. The Lost will automatically arrive to provide you back up.
- TIP: Make sure you have stocked up on ammo and purchased combat armor before starting a Gang War.
- The missions themselves are fairly simple, you will have to do one of three tasks:
- Chase down a group of gang members on bikes and kill them.
- Chase down and destroy a vehicle escorted by a group of rival gang members on bikes or cars.
- Bunker up at a location and survive a firefight on foot versus a rival gang. Enemy reinforcements will periodically come. You will need to kill these as well.
- Any Lost members that survive the Gang War will gain toughness boosts. The only ones that are relevant are Terry and Clay, as they cannot die and count towards an achievement.
- ACHIEVEMENT: TLAD - Full Chat will unlock when you build Terry and Clay's Toughness to 100%.
- 5min.com: GTA IV - TLAD - Achievement - Full Chat (Time: 0:18)
- NOTE: If you have not obtained the Full Chat achievement by finishing the main story missions, Gang Wars are the best way of toughening up Terry and Clay for the achievement. They will receive anywhere from 3-6% toughness for surviving a gang war.
- There are 25 "different" Gang War scenarios, but their objectives are fairly similar. Completing 25 will count towards your 100% completion goal.
- You will also receive weapon rewards for completing certain numbers of Gang War missions:
- 10 Gang Wars completed - Sawed-Off Shotgun
- 20 Gang Wars completed - 9mm Automatic Pistol
- 30 Gang Wars completed - Carbine Rifle
- 40 Gang Wars completed - Automatic Shotgun
- 50 Gang Wars completed - Grenade Launcher
- The weapons will appear in the Arm-Wrestling room of The Lost HQ.
Stubbs' Odd Job Missions
- After completing Stubbs' main storyline missions he will tell you to call him for work. These can be initiated by going to "Job" when calling Stubbs on your cell phone.
- There are five different missions that Stubbs will give you. They are very short and simple to do. They range from assassination to vehicle theft to espionage with your camera phone.
- These missions should be very simple to do, just follow the instructions and waypoints given.
- Completing all five missions will count towards 100% completion. They can be tracked in the stats menu under "Stubbs dirty laundry washed."
Motorcycle Exports
- Export missions are the vehicle theft missions in Lost and Damned.
- They will be unlocked after the first mission you complete with Jim in the main storyline. To access them, call Angus on your cell phone and select "Job."
- Angus will direct you to steal a bike somewhere in Liberty City. The bike may either be parked somewhere or being ridden around town. Either way, grab the bike, and take it back to the garage behind the Lost clubhouse to complete the theft.
- There are ten different bike missions for you to complete. Once all ten are done, you will have met your quota towards 100% completion.
