  • The History of The Lost and Damned

The Lost and Damned has been a long time in the making. It was originally introduced at the E3 conference in 2006, long before Grand Theft Auto IV even hit store shelves. Touted as "epic episode packs", the then-unknown downloadable content was considered a major victory for Microsoft, which had announced an exclusivity deal. Grand Theft Auto IV publishing parent Take-Two Interactive would later reveal that Microsoft had paid $50 million for both downloadable episodes.Take-Two: F2Q07 Earnings Call Transcript

Later in the year, however, Take-Two announced that there would be a delay, and that the content would be released in the first financial quarter of 2008. After another minor delay putting it back a month, Rockstar finally announced that the first episode, The Lost and the Damned, would come out on February 17, 2009.
