As in previous editions of the franchise, Grand Theft Auto IV features hidden packages for players to collect, possibly earning rewards for finding them all.

One collection of hidden objects in the game is a group of diseased pigeons players can kill. Kill all of the diseased pigeons in the game to receive an Annihilator.

Rewards in past games for collecting packages have included new skills or abilities, such as breathing underwater, or free deliveries of weapons and other items.

The ninth game in Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto game series, Grand Theft Auto IV returns players to Liberty City (based on New York City), pulling off elaborate missions and leaving a trail of maximum carnage in their wakes.

This time, the story follows Eastern European immigrant Niko Bellic, who has traveled to America to work for his cousin Roman's taxi company. This turns out to be a front for a vast and complex criminal enterprise, which Niko will have to balance with his developing social life, explored largely in optional side missions.

Grand Theft Auto IV is the first entry in the console series to offer a multiplayer option, allowing players to either race one another or team up to pull off special missions.
